Birth Certificate
A certified birth certificate that can typically be used for travel, passport, proof of citizenship, social security, driver's license, school registration, personal identification and other legal purposes. Birth Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Montana from 1907 to present. If the event occurred prior to 1907, please contact the agency directly at 406-444-2685.
Birth Certificate w/Apostille
An Apostille certifies the authenticity of the issuing official’s signature, which is often required by foreign embassies or consulates. An Apostille is a certification form set out in The Hague Convention abolishing the requirements of legalization for foreign public documents (1961).
